1220 families received aid food in Beledweyn

Somali Youth for Peace and Development (SYPD), a local NGO operating Hiraan region has distributed food to 1220  families living in Beledweyn.

According statement by SYPD, the beneficiaries of the aid are from 11 villages around the Beledweyne town including Deefoow, Doonkudle, Xaskule, Qoydo, Kabxanley, Bacaad, Dhariyow, Lafoole, Leebow, Helokaliya, and Hoodleey.

Each family was giver 25kgs of Rice, 25kgs of Flour, 12.5kgs of Sugar, 2.5kgs of dry milk powder and 6 liters of oil according to the statement.

The aid package will enhance vulnerable household’s access to food as they recover from one of the most devastative floods in the history of Beledweyne town.

Food distribution was made possible by a generous funding from the German Federal Bureau for Foreign Affairs.

Such distribution is seen to be very important and it came the right time as people in the region were affected by the recent floods and conflicts.
