1st Somali-American Appointed to Metropolitan Airports Commission

A Delta Air Lines subcontractor from Rosemount will be the first Somali-American to serve on the Metropolitan Airports Commission.

Ibrahim Mohamed is a cart driver who works for Airserv. Gov. Mark Dayton appointed him to the 14-member commission, and he is the only airport employee on the board.

Mohamed has worked at the airport 11 years and has been a baggage runner, ticket verifier and worked in lavatory and water services.

The next Metropolitan Airports Commission meeting is Tuesday.
