2 killed in Bossaso in violent clashes with police

At least 2 people have died in violent clashes between protesters and police in Bossaso as in furious demonstration flared up on Monday.

The clashes erupted after over hundreds irate protestors have held rally against the administration in the town. A policeman was killed, medical and security sources said.

There were conflicting reports of whether he was killed in clashes with protestors.

Another person was killed when protesters clashed with the police in the centre of the town.

Security officials said that 15 protesters were arrested, including five, who were found in possession of machetes and clubs.

Protests against the government have been held since last year when hundreds servicemen protested over missing salaries.
