20 Alshabab Fighters Killed In Airstrike

Reports from Lower Shabeela region state that unidentified warplane conducted airstrike targeted with Al-Shabab garrison near the seaport town, Marko on Monday.

At least 20 Al-Shabab fighter were killed in the attack according to the governor of Lower shabelle region who gave interview to Anadolu Agency
“We received reports that a foreign warplane had bombed an Al-Shabaab camp near Merca, leaving 20 militants dead and destroying cars and boats used by the group,” Sidi said.

There has been no comment yet from Al-Shabaab regarding the reported airstrike.

Al-Shabab faced several major blows including killing of many of their leaders and losing most of its stronghold southern and centrol Somalia to Somali National Army backed by AMISOM troops.

No country yet claimed credit for the attack but as has been the case U.S. drone targets Al-Shabab officials and the group’s foreigner fighters.
