300 Puntland maritime police graduate

Three hundred maritime police officers from a UAE funded training programme passed out in Garowe Saturday.

Speaking during the passing out ceremony, Puntland Navy commander admiral Abdirrizak Dirie Farah thanked the United Arab Emirates government for its support in training the forces.

“I pass my gratitude to the government of UAE and its representative who run the training facility and funded this program,” said Farah, while also calling of the forces to diligently serve the country. “You have been given a lot of knowledge in order to serve your country and to persevere for the hardships you might face in the future.”

The local commissioner of Bari region, Yussuf Waes Dado informed the gathering that the new soldiers will be a boost to the local security. “

“This an army that has been well trained and can take party in keeping the security of our country and defend our people from Al-shabaab,” said Dado.
