Water tank truck belonging to Kenyan Defense Forces came under attack on Monday when it ran over an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Gerille, Wajir County.

It was early morning around 7:30am when the attack took place according to Wajir County Commissioner John Chelimo.

The attack injured four officers who were later airlifted to Nairobi for medical treatment.

Kenya Police will intensify patrolling the area with infantry soldiers according to Mr. Chelimo.

Incidents of attacks using IED explosives aimed at vehicles especially ferrying government soldiers have become rampant in Northeastern Kenya which borders Somalia over 650km stretch of unmanned land that is very conducive  heaven for trouble makers.
