Somali president condemns twin attacks in Mogadishu

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia HE Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has strongly condemned the brutal terrorist attack on Friday, carried out Al-Shabab fighters which left death toll of 20 people including Somali government officials and injured more than 35 others.
“I am very sorry and shocked that terrorist groups have once again targeted innocent Muslim people, who were performing their Juma prayers at Central Hotel in Mogadishu. I send my condolences to the families and relatives of those who lost their lives in this terrible attack. I also pray for a quick recovery for those who were wounded.” he said.
The president underscored that the attack will be setback to the efforts of Somali government to restore peace and instability adding that they will continue wiping out Al-Shabab fighters and those against peace stabilization in Somalia.
“We shall keep on fighting against terrorism; this attack is an evidence of the group’s ideology which far away the commands of peace loving religion of Islam. The security forces in collaboration with AMISOM troops and the people will never stop until stability; law and order are fully restored to Somalia” the president said.
The President also encouraged the public to continue their support to national security forces and organizations.
