Residents of Baladweyne Told To Pay Taxes

The local administration of Baladweyne has urged the residents there to pay taxes as this will be spent on the social services for the public.

Mayor Omar Badiyow told journalists that it’s every citizen’s duty and obligation to pay tax and it’s for the government’s responsibility to deliver.
The local administration will soon embark on registration drive to mark houses with numbers and to document businesses, so as to facilitate the tax collection.

“We informed the public to pay the taxes, because if they fail to do so, we would not be able to deliver essential services” said the mayor.

On the other hand, he sent stern warning to those who occupy government properties in the city, he reminded them that authorities would no longer tolerate this and would take action.
