Al-shabab withdrew from Qansaxdhere district in Bay region

Reports from Qansaxdhere in Bay region states that al-shabab withdrew from the district that was one their strongholds in the region.

Bardale district commissioner Mohamed Osman Caracas confirmed to the media that Al-shabab pulled out of the district last night.

The commissioner added that government and AMISOM troops have headed to Qansaxdhere to taken over and maintain the security of the areas withdrawn by Al-shabab.

The real motive of Al-shabab’s withdrawal is not clearly known but government forces and African union peace-keeping troops were planning to attack the district.
