Two die as gunmen attack on a market in Baladweyne

Two people have been killed after armed men stage attack on a market on Friday evening, in Baledweyn town.

Clashes erupted between gunmen and SNA soldiers in Howlwadaag market.

A local resident in the town told Goobjoog news that he has seen two bodies in the area after the clash lulled minutes later.

“The clash was going on about ten minutes, I saw two bodies……I think SNA soldier and a civilian” said the witness.

The administration has to comment on the issue as there was no group claimed the responsibility.

In the recent months, Baledweyne town has witnessed movements of clan militias following the death of Mahdi Hussein Ma’ow, a field officer with the United Nations’ Mine Action Service (UNMAS) who died after armed troops opened fire on his car in Hawatako locality in the town.
