Sidii: SNA and AMISOM will advance to Al-shabab controlled areas
Federal government forces and African Union peace-keeping troops are preparing to move forward to capture new areas under Al-shabab in Lower Shabelle region.
The governor of the Lower Shabelle region Abdikadir Mohamed Noor Sidii told Goob Joog FM on the phone that the joint forces are ready to carry out offensive military against Al-shabab.
The governor underlined that the military operations will reach Kurtunwarey,Bulomarer, Brawe and other areas under Al-shabab in the region.
Mr. Sidii also stated that the security situation of some districts in the region like Qoryoley has improved since the Federal government took the control from Al-shabab adding that the business activities began to boom.
Al-shabab controls some areas in the region, while Barawe district being one of their strongholds in the region.
SNA and AMISOM have taken over 10 districts since the offensive military against Al-shabab started earlier this year.
