Former Bosaso mayor forms armed opposition in Puntland
The ex-mayor of Bosaso- the biggest and the commercial city of Puntland state of Somalia threatens to oust Abdiwli Gas from the leadership of the state.
Abdismad Mohammad Gallan, with hundreds of armed men occupied strategic villages and small towns along the main road that connects Basoso to other main cities of the state, including Garowe and Galkio.
Speaking to the local media in Armo town, 100km to south of Bosaso Abdisamad said he is fighting for social justices in state.
Puntland security agencies met in Garowe and Bosaso but did not issue formal communication about how cope with the security threat within the state.
Elders and traditional leaders in the state reported to have headed Armo town to hold talks with Abdismad and prevent clashes between him and state forces.
