US urges state development in Somalia
Following the confirmation of the Somali’s new prime minister, Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmar , the US department of state on Wednesday urged the government in Mogadishu to work toward developing the state institutions.
“ we urge the president, parliament and the council of ministers to make progress toward realizing goals of critical importance to the nation , such as constitutional reviews ,state formation, election preparation s, development of military and police force and public financial management reforms “Department spokesman Jen Psaki said in statement .
“The united states remains committed to supporting the Somali government and people as stabilize and rebuild their country and we look forward to strengthening our importance partnership with Somalia “ she pointed out.
Psaki added that Obama administration “welcome the December 24 parliamentary confirmation of Somalia’s prime minster” and look forward “to his prompt appointment of a capable council of ministers”
