A government soldier shot dead in Mogadishu

Unknown armed men killed a government soldier in Weydow the outer skirt of the capital Mogadishu.

Reports indicate the deceased government soldier who was driving a Fenkon motorcycle was shot dead by armed men were in possession with pistols and driving a motorbike and immediately fleed from the scene as confirmed by eyewitnesses.

Security officers have immediately reached at the scene to carry out investigations at the vicinity through the assailants disappeared.

The movements of public vehicles and business activities in the area were halted down for a while for further investigations by the security forces.

The motive of the attack was not immediately clear but similar incidents have been reported in the city in the recent past.

A federal member of parliament was also shot dead by armed men in Karaan district of the capital Mogadishu whereby the responsibility of the attack was claimed by the Al-Shabaab group.
