A Precursor Meeting Starts in Galkayo for Puntland and  Galmudug States

A forerunner meeting on prevalent peace solidarity in Mudug region has opened in Galkayo town between Puntland and Galmudug administrations.

Regional Ministers from the two neighboruig States converged in the town for a precursor meeting which is expected to tackle tangible matters.

The meeting is taking place in Gal Mudug side of  Galkayo town since its divided into two administrative blocks where the Northern part is administered by Puntland and Southern side by Galmudug State.

Puntland’s Minister for Environment Ali Abdullahi Warsame said the main agenda to be discussed is how to bring tranquility upon Mudug region especially Galkayo town where the locals will live in unity.

Gal Mudug’s Interior Minister Mohamed Hayir Noor on his side mentioned the meeting is a crucial one and big step towards working on peace and harmony

“We shall discuss reconciliation and peacemaking. The agenda of the meeting is already prepared. We shall engage on fraternal issues and living in harmony” said Interior Minister Noor.

The meetings follow an agreement that was reached in Adado town on March 2017 between Gal Mudug President Ahmed Duale Haf and his Puntland counterpart Abdiweli Ali Gas.
