Ahlusunna refutes accusations on Iran link by Galmudug state

Somali moderate Islamist, Ahlusunna Waljama’a has faulted reports saying the government Iran is supporting Ahlu-sunna, the faction based in Dhusa-mareeb town.

The spokesman of the group, Mursal Sheikh Mohamed has refuted the accusation remarks made Galmudug minister Mohamed Adan Osman.

“Islamic Republic of Iran and Ahlusunaa have no military relations and we are saying what the so called Galmudug said is baseless accusation” he said.

Meanwhile the spokesman has also dismissed reports saying Ahlu-Sunna fighters have vacated their base in Dhusa-mareeb town.

“Our soldiers are still at their military bases in the town and we also want to discard the unfounded reports saying that Ahlusunna leaders took meeting with Ethiopian officials” he said.

This comes a day Galmudug state accused the government Iran of supporting the Somali Moderate Islamist, Ahlu-Sunna waljama’a.

Speaking to the reporters in Adado town, Galmudug information minister Mohamed Adan Osman said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is backing Ahlu-Suna waljama’a militarily in order to obtain its interests in the region.
