The ban on local and international flights will not affect the cargo transport and humanitarian supplies, the Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) has said.

SCAA director general Ahmed Hassan said Sunday food supplies, humanitarian aid, and other cargo transport will not be affected by the ban.

The aviation authority Saturday extended the international lights ban and grounded passenger flights countrywide in a bid to curb the spread of the deadly COVID-19 disease. Local flights ban take effect today.

The authority however advised humanitarian flights to seek clearance 24 hours in advance and adhere to all measures issued by the Ministry of Health.
