Al Shabaab ambushes on allied forces in lower Juba

Reports from Lower Juba region indicate that heavy fighting broke out between Somali army forces and Al-Shabaab fighters in Hosingow area.

Al-Shabaab reportedly ambushed the Somali national forces in the area where they have been repelled. It is not known the exact casualties of the fighting, but local authorities in Hosingow told local media that many Al-Shabaab members were killed in the area.

Somali government forces and al-Shabaab militias have been repeatedly fighting in similar locations in the Lower Juba region since last year.
