Al-Shabaab attacks military base in Barire, Lower Shabelle

Al-Shabaab attacked a military base in Barire in Lower Shabelle region in the early hours of Friday government officials Lower Shabelle said.

Ali Nur, the deputy governor of Lower Shabelle quoted by Reuters confirmed the incident but did not give any details.

Goobjoog News could not immediately establish if the base was run by Somali or Amisom forces.
