Al-shabab lose new areas in Lower Juba

The security forces of interim Juba administration together with AMISOM have taken over new areas in Lower Juba region as security officials confirmed to the media.

The allied forces have on Saturday taken over Kuda Island from Al-shabab after the group withdrew from area and conducted security operations in the road linking the Island to Kulbiyow locality.

Reports from the region states that Al-shabab reprisal attacks against the bases of the joint forces in the seized areas thought the number of casualties is not known so far.

The security officials vowed not to rest until all the areas under the control of Al-shabab will be captured.

Al-shabab declined to give comment about this recent seizure.
