Al-shabab takes credit of  AU’s base attack

Al-shabab takes credit of Halane base attack in Mogadishu on Thursday. The group  said they were responsible of the assault and they were targeting a group of Christians near Adan Adde international airport.

Most of the roads leading to Mogadishu and the surrounding areas were blocked as heavy presence of vigilant security forces are felt around the area.

The African Union force said all of its personnel as well as UN staff were unhurt in Thursday’s attack, denying claims from Al- Shabab spokesman.

The local people around the airport that shares a fence with Halane base report heavy gunfire and explosion in the area.
