Alshabab ambushes AMISOM convoy in Hiran

Intense fighting has broken out between AMISOM peacekeepers, together with Somali National Army and Alshabab fighters when their convoy came under ambush.

Travelling in Hiran towards the small city of Halgan, literally meaning “Struggle”, the insurgents claiming to be fighting for the liberation of Somalia from invaders ambushed the convoy at a place called Garisyani.

There are reports of casualties from both sides, but its yet to be established the extent.

Though the locals have told Goobjoog the fighting was heavy, which took place yesterday evening, the concerned parties has to comment on it.

Residents always bear the brunt in such fighting, doubled up with hard living conditions.
