American oil exploration invested in Somalia says US Diplomat

Storyline:National News

The US government said that some American oil companies are carried out oil exploration in Somalia. This information was confirmed by US Ambassador to Somalia Stephen Michael Shwartz during an interview with he had with Goobjoog News.

Some of the Ambassador Stephen’s quotes included:

“The US and oil companies invested in Somalia. They had done research and exploration here many years ago. I don’t know in the last thirty years what they are thinking but these are big companies or expeditionary companies to look for places where there is opportunity. So I would suddenly hope there are American oil companies looking carefully at Somalia and to see even if they can try to invest as soon as possible” said Ambassador Stephen.

On his message to the Somali people, the Ambassador Stephen added “My message to the Somali people is congratulation on having a very committed government that really wants to work for the Somali people and to put in place the policies and institutions that will help the country. It is a government we want to work with and I think that Somalia has a great future. It’s going to take time. I think people need to be patient but it’s going to come and the US wants to be a part of the future.”
