AMISOM Deputy Police Commissioner Inspects The Training Camp Of The SPF In Kismayo

AMISOM Police Deputy Commissioner Christine Alalo leading by number of AMISOM senior police officers came to Kismayo. They warmly welcomed by the by Interim Jubbaland interior and security minister H. E; Mohamed Warsame Darwish and other high ranked officials from IJA State house.

They discussed more issues about the new recruits of SPF, facilities, and equipments related with the police. After long discussion, the IJA team admired how the AMISOM and its counterparts want to develop the Somali Police Forces. AMISOM Deputy police commissioner and her delegates were taken to the training camp where the commissioner spoke to some of the trainees.

Interim Jubbaland Administration interior and security minister, H.E: Mohamed Warsame Darwish speaking at the scene said’’, I would like to thank to AMISOM, UNSOM that played crucial role in this training. I also thank to UK government for their support of this training. I think, as we are Jubbaland it is an advantage for our police to get such training, the result of this training will help us to maintain the security of the region. We say to our colleagues, you welcome. this is your second homeland. Jubbaland , except from other regional states of Somalia, is the most historic region of Somalia’’.

AMISOM Deputy Police Commissioner, Christine Alalo , ” Today we are here to see the final preparations for the recruit police training or the police training for the recruits that has been overdue so many months, we are soon having the first 200 batch of the selected vetted recruits that are already here, ready for the training and the training is opening very soon. This particular training is specifically to prepare police officers to do basic police training to the community out there and to ensure that there is rule of law in that police in the community, there is order in the community, and is the purpose why this training is going to be done. This training of course to be done specifically by the Somali Police and together with the AMISOM Police are going to handle this training and after the end of the training, we should be able to deploy them especially to the recovered areas. The purpose of the training is stabilizing those kinds of areas after they have been recovered. Automatically we expect, after recovering of an area life must come back and when life is to come back meaning that there must be security in that area and this people after their training they will be deployed in that place. We expect to train more 400 to make a very big batch of 600, so that the hole region is having police officers on the ground’’

This training will be officially opened on Wednesday next week where Somali Police Commissioner and other FGS officials will attend the ceremony.
