African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) troops have allegedly killed four civilians including two women and gouged out the eyes of the four, on Saturday in Bulamareer town, Lower Shabelle, witness said.

Sources the victims were passengers heading to Bulamareer town

A local resident who spoke to Goobjoog News said the four were among ten people who were travelling in a private car heading to Bulamarer town before they were stopped and ordered to get out.

“AMISOM troops stopped the car and ordered the four passengers to get out before shooting and killing them. They later gouged the eyes out their eyes,” said witness who asked not to be named.

The motive behind the killing of civilians is unknown and Somalia’s Federal government has not also issued any statement on the development.

AMISOM troops have in the past been accused of killing civilians and cases of rape have also been reported.
