Ashara passes on in Canada
Awad Ahmed Ashara, a former MP in the Somali parliament has passed away in Canada where he was residing for some time.
The late Ashara was once a member of the rebel forces led by Mohamed Abdi Hashi but later became one of the founders of Puntland state where he was appointed as a minister in the state ministry of Information.
He was also an MP in the interim government of Abdullahi Yussuf where he held the post of chairperson for parliamentary committee on Information in the 8th parliament.
He was an author on Somali history.
