At least eight civilians killed in Lower Shabelle, Somalia

At least eight women were killed by unknown armed men between Mogadishu and Afgooye road.

Sources are indicating armed men have targeted women working on the sanitation in the area not far from Hawa Abdi Hospital.

The governor of Lower Shabelle region Mohamed Ibrahim Barre has confirmed the casualties of eight women killed and he has accused Al-Shabaab on such incidents in the area.

Barre added that the security forces are pursuing the attackers.

It’s yet not clear the motive behind why women who were working to clean the streets were targeted and killed.

Similar incidents of killing innocent women working in cleaning the streets were also issued several times before in the capital Mogadishu.
