AU Envoy: “We have to discuss with Somali government about Mogadishu stadium”

The especial representative of AU to Somalia Maman S. Sidikou who came back to Mogadishu, has today addressed the media about the outcome of Uganda meeting which was participated by Somali government and United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) and AMISOM.
He read some of the main points agreed as follows
-To continue to support the processes for inclusive politics: AMISOM will continue the support in Somali political leaders and traditional leadership at both federal and regional levels.
-On stabilization: To support the federal government of Somalia implementing quick impact projects by delivering water, health facilities and basic needs in towns recovered by Somali national army (SNA) backed by AMISOM.
-Support to rebuild Somali National Army: We will work together to advance the need to support in the rebuilding of Somali national army.
-Human right: Human right is to be protected by ensuring all AMISOM operation are fully compliant applicable and a relevant to international human right and humanitarian law standard.

Mr. Maman also commended Somali Diaspora who took consultative meeting in Kigali and urged them to take part in process to rebuild Somalia country as to bounce back on own.
Lastly the Envoy responding why AMISOM still occupy in stadium Mogadishu when the city securely safe, he said “I have to consult internally and what it is, if it is a base we need for over security of Mogadishu, we certainly will have to discuss with the federal government of Somalia”
