Baidoa authorities ban Auto-rickshaw

Authorities in Baidoa town have banned Auto rickshaws using on the streets of Baidoa town for two days in order to tackle the security during Somali National consultative Forum.

“The ban will come into effect on 22nd June and no Autorickshaw will be allowed to ply within the town,” reads a statement released by Baidoa authority.

“The administration took this step as the NCF is approaching,” notes the statement. “We regard this as a legitimate step for the security of the region.”

It said the ban would be lifted after the conclusion of the National Consultative Forum which is scheduled to kick off later today.
