Benadir governor: holding of IGAD summit in Mogadishu is historic achievement

Somalia is hosting IGAD summit after more two and half decades, foreign affairs ministers of IGAD arrived Mogadishu on Friday.

The administration of Benadir region described Somalia’s move of hosting the summit for the first time as historic and achievement towards peace and stability.

The mayor of Mogadishu Hassan Mohamed Hussein Muungaab speaking to Goobjoog FM stated that holding of the meeting in Mogadishu was made possible by the security and concrete advances made by the government.

He called the public to take advantage of the opportunities in hand and back the federal government’s efforts to stabilize the country.

IGAD foreign ministers are expected to have their meeting in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu on Saturday.
