Bossaso gets new mayor

A new mayor for Bossaso town was elected in highly contested election which kicked off earlier Today.

In tough election which commenced Wednesday Morning in the sea port town of Bossaso, Yasiin Mire Mohamud was elected as the mayor of Bossaso town.

It was reported that the new mayor has won by landslide when his opponent Omar Sadik failed to show during the elections for reasons which are still unknown.

Shortly after the announcement of the election, The electoral commission chairman has welcomed the outcome, applauding the fair, free and transparent manner in which the election was conducted.

The election was attended by many, including the Governor of Bari, Ministers from the Puntland administration, Regional Member of Parliaments, Elders, Academics, Politicians, Business community, youth, civil society members and women groups.
