The administration of Bulo-Burte district in Hiran region claimed victory over clashes with Al-Shabab in Yooman locality in the outskirts of the town.
Bulo-Burte district commissioner Abdiaziz Duurow Abdi told Goobjoog FM that the battle embarked after government forces and AMISOM troops attacked Al-shabab hide outs after getting tip-offs.
The commissioner confirmed that they inflicted big casualties to the group adding that two soldiers, among them a Djiboutian died during the fight.
Finally Mr. Durow said the situation is stable and government forces together with African Union peace-keeping troops are in full control of the town.
Al-shabab have declined to give comment about the clashes in the area.
