Buur-dhuubo administration to distribute donations to the drought hit residents

Hundreds of families in Buur-Dhuubo district of Gedo region are expected to benefit from food aid delivered for the first time by the federal government to the district.

The district commissioner of Buur-Dhuubo said the food aid delivered by the government is not sufficient to the residents but it is a good start to other food aid that will be delivered to the affected people in the area.

The commissioner stated that besides the severe drought in the area the residents are also faced with other challenges including inflations caused by food and water shortages.

He reiterated that large number of people from rural areas affected by the drought flock to the town day after day adding that his administration is not capable of fulfilling their needs.

He called the federal government and humanitarian aid agencies to show solidarity to the needy people in the district.
