President Mohamed Farmaajo has cheered up the Oceans Stars ahead of the CECAFA under 17 finals Sunday calling on the team to bring the cup home.

Speaking with Stars coach Salah Farah via telephone, President Farmaajo shored up support for the team leading the nation in rooting for a win in the historic match.

“We are hoping for victory in the tournament, and the country will get a good name from you. Young people we encourage you to play well and bring a good name for the country,” the president said.

The president asked the boys to bring the cup home.

Ocean Stars broke history last Wednesday beating defending champions Uganda Cubs to proceed to the finals. No football team has reached the finals in international tourneys.

The match kicks off this afternoon.
