Civil society group SONSA call on the FGS to protect free expression

Civil society groups in the country has called the federal government of Somalia to protect freedom of expression, human rights and protect the law of the country.

Members of civil society, businessmen and professions SONSA which was before called as SOCENSA issued a statement today about the current  political situation of the country especially the conflict between the federal government of Somalia and members of federal states, and the lack of collaboration between the federal government of Somalia and the United Nation office in Somalia (UNSOM).

The civil society group keeps the independence and sovereignty of the country and considering the impact of the friction and confusion on government stability and the development of the country.

The SONSA group has called the political disputes to be ended through negotiations and understanding, as the country achieves development.

The civil society has also pointed out the relevant authorities to investigate the crimes against the rights of Somali citizens, particularly that of Baidoa and Bardheere during the SWS election and bring the perpetrators to justice.
