Communication Service Cut Off in Gedo As Security Operation is Under Way

Ethiopian Soldiers cut off air communication in some towns located in Gedo region as they conduct security operations.

This morning Ethiopian soldiers accompanied by Somali security forces with military vehicles and infantry soldiers marched towards Habaal Beel locality situated 25 km east of Bardera town.

Communication services are out of reach in Bardera town as well as several locations in Gedo region due to the operations by the two soldiers.

Habaal Beel location links Bardera and Dinsoor towns in Gedo and Bay regions and reports from area says in the last few hours past the town is filled with armed Alshabab fighters.

Since air communication is cut off, reaching the security officials in the operation seems not possible.
