Storyline:National News

The National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) condemns the arbitrary arrest against the blind journalist on Tuesday by the Somali security forces, the latest in a string of violence against the journalists in Somalia.
The vice chairman of NUSOJ, Suleiman Sheikh Ismail said that it is something illogical to detained a blind person like Kalga’al for 2 days.
“It is an agony that the veteran blind journalist Kalga’al to be behind the bars for about 24 hours, we have even looked for details about his arrest but we found nothing and it is the first time to arrest a blind journalist therefore we condemn the arbitrary arrest against a broadcast journalist “he said.
He added that It is unconstitutional to deny someone to be visited by his or her relatives.
“Call upon the government and the security agencies to allow his relatives to visit him and we also call for his unconditional release “he underlined.
