COVID 19 jump to 997 in Somalia

The Somali health ministry on Saturday confirmed 69 new cases of the novel coronavirus, bringing the total tally of infections to 997 patients.

Health Minister, Fawziya Abikar said four people recovered from the deadly respiratory disease, raising the total number of recoveries to 110 following another four patients succumbed to the disease in the last 48 hours, making the total number of deaths to 48 people.

The current number of COVID 19 new cases confirmed was 55 and 5 deaths which grammatically show in every hour over 100 people transmit the diseases to non-infected persons in Somalia leading a large number of people to suffer.

According to Somaliland health ministry, the highest number of COVID 19 cases has been reported in a single day with 1 death. The total number of coronavirus cases reaches 34 patients and 4 deaths in Somaliland.

Somalia’s capacity for testing and health protocols is very low in terms of emergency medical treatment and COVID 19 experts as well as Isolation bases.
