Somali minister for defence, Abdikadir Sheikh Ali Diini has taken meeting with officials from European Union (EU) in Mogadishu on Wednesday.
The sides discussed about wide range issues including relations between EU and Somalia, SNA trainings and others.
The minister has applauded EU for its commitment to support Somali government and its army.
“This meeting is very important for strengthening and reformation of Somali army which EU always implements; EU is one of our partners which stood to help Somali people during the hard times the nation passed” minister said.
He added that the first priority is to integrate the forces in Somalia which will make SNA to retrieve it is former position.
Finally the EU pledged that it double the trainings for Somali National Army and will support the government as to strong army.

“We appreciate the role EU is playing in the reconstruction of Somalia and their sincerity to help Somali people “ the minister said.

EU delivers political and strategic advice to the Somali ministry of defence and the chief of defence forces on security sector development. It also advises on military training so as to lay the foundations of a Somali-owned military training system.
