Demonstrations in favour of disarmament operations held in Mogadishu

A massive demonstration in support of the disarmament operation launched by the government forces and AMISOM troops was today held in Mogadishu.

The demonstration was held at Daljirka dahson Square in the heart of the capital city, Mogadishu.

The security of the city especially the Square was tightened the government forces backed by AMISOM troops.

Government officials, officials from  Banadir regional administration, religious leaders and people from all the walks filled the Square thrice its capacity.

The aim of the demonstrations is to back the improved security situation in Mogadishu since the government forces together with AMISOM launched disarmament operations and seized weapons and ammunition in the capital

One of the religious leaders Sheikh Abdikadir Somow who addressed the crowds in Daljirka Square  explained the importance of security to the people and urged the locals to collaborate with the security agencies so as to maintain the overall security of the country especially Mogadishu.
