Dhusa-Mareb Administration Installs Solar Powered Lights

For the first time in history, solar streetlights have been erected across Dhusa-Mareb town in a bid to improved security and allow business activities along the roads to boom during the night.
Residents have welcomed the move and urged the government to erect more streetlights in other areas.
The residents started going out for shopping at night the country’s slide in lawlessness in 1990s after the central government led by late Mohamed Siyad Barre deposed.
Most of the residents especially youths who spoke to Goobjoog News assured that they will use to make use of lights and to take responsibility to handle them and guard them against any harm by criminal elements.
Dhusa-Mareb district commissioner Abdirahman Geeda-Qarow said that the project to illuminate the streets was implemented Norway government and illumination will play major role in process to make the town appealing.
Dhusa-Mareb town is the provincial headquarter of Galgaduuud region and it is growing and getting development every month.
