Djibouti president Omar Gelle to visit Mogadishu

President Omar Gelle of Djibouti is today expected to pay an official state visit to Mogadishu to further strengthen the historical ties between the two nations.

The two Head of States are expected to have bilateral discussions on areas of mutual benefit between the two countries as Somalia and Djibouti share strong brotherly bonds.

Djibouti is one of five East African countries who contributed troops to the AU’s mission in Somalia, who are battling Al-Shabaab for ten years.

The security situation in Mogadishu has been very tense as the city has been flooded with heavy forces to tighten the security.
