Djibouti ambassador to Somalia, Dayib Dubad Rooble said that his government ready to support the efforts aimed to end the deadly enter-clan fighting in Beledweyne.

The ambassador who visited Baladweyne town on Thursday dismissed reports saying that AU peacekeeping forces in the town decline to intervene the situation.

“AU troops especially Djibouti troops have done their best and managed to to stop the inter-clan violence,” said Rooble.

On Tuesday, AMISOM  troops from Djibouti and Somali National Army intervened to quell a deadly inter-clan confrontation in the town.

The clashes that erupted in last weeks have claimed at least 34 lives, according to Beledweyne mayor, Mohamed Osman.

Osman said that the fighting was over after the troops stopped the deadly inter-clan confrontation in the town as the traditional elder trying to bring together the clashed clans.

“African Union peace-keeping mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and SNA soldiers have been deployed in the battled zone and Traditional clan elders are trying to mediate between the warring sides,” said the mayor.
