Efforts continue for middle-shebble and Hiran Federal State formation

Elders, politicians and law-makers of middle Shebble and Hiran regions beef-up efforts to speedy the formation of the last remaining Federal State in the country before 2016 elections.

The gathering elders and politician are trying to resolve a number of sticking points that created standoff including which city will host the state formation conference that expected to kick off as soon as possible.

United Nations and International community want that the process of Hiran and Middle-Shebelle Federal state formation to be quickened so that 2016 elections preparations will have enough space and time.

Meanwhile Elders and clan chiefs of Hiiran region have once again called on State conference organizers and Somali Federal government to designate Baladweyne as the official host city of Hiran and Middle Shabelle state conference that is due to start soon.

On last Saturday a prominent number of the region’s elders had a meeting in Baladweyne which they discussed on the issues.

Middle Shabelle and Hiiran state will be the second to be formed this year after the conclusion of the Adado Conference in July which saw the creation of Galmudug State.
