Eight Killed in Alshabab Base by Airstrike

Eight People believed to be Alshahab fighters lost their lives in an air strike according to the United States Africa Command.

The strike was carried on Sunday in a training camp Sakow location in the Lower Jubbaland. Reports indicate that the camp was completely destroyed.

A statement released from the office of the President of Somalia stated that the attack was solely meant to target Alshabab militants in order to hamper their effort to hurt the Somali people.

Government forces assisted by AMISOM soldiers are battling Alshabab fighters who are regarded to be a major threat to the Somali statehood.
