English written CVs Prompts Controversy in Somali Federal Parliament Session

When Somali justice minister Abdullaahi Jama Ahmed Ilkajir submitted the profiles of National Judiciary Service Commission in English language to Somali Federal parliament, he did except any controversy will be involved because of the used language in the documents but he got schooled by the parliament to learn which language is operational in the milieu of Somali Federal Parliament.

The minister who was scheduled to address before the parliament faced intense opposition from MPs who wanted him to prepare his documents in Somali before he proceed any further.

The Somali provisional Constitution gives Somali language as the Official Language of the State; Arabic comes second.

The minister looked visibly upset of parliament opposition before leaving parliament building.
