The Ogaden National Liberation Front, ONLF secretary general and co-founder Abdirahman Mahdi has said Somalis in the Ogaden region in Ethiopia must not give up their dream of self-determination but push further to accomplish it.
In an interview with Al-Jazeera, Mahdi claimed ONLF was determined to secure a secession from Ethiopia owing to many years of marginalisation and subjugation by successive Ethiopian regimes.
“Like the Arab Spring, we are going to start insurrection all over the place. Ethiopia is now boiling. The regime is now in disarray; they’re divided. The people of Ethiopia have now risen up. They want their rights. We are tired of one clique dominating the rest of Ethiopia,” said Mahdi.
