Ethiopia’s PM says bodies of soldiers found in Tigray

GOOBJOOG NEWS| ETHIOPIA: Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said Thursday bodies of some national army troops have been found in the Tigray region amid a deadly war with forces loyal to the northern region.

The Ethiopian leader said in a series of tweets the bodies of the fallen soldiers had been tied and shot by Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) forces who have been fighting with the national army for over two weeks now.

The bodies were found in Sheraro town which is located at Semien Mi’irabawi Zone of the Tigray Region,

The PM’s remarks follow a call by the Tigray region to ‘”defend” themselves from “flagrant aggression” from the federal government.

A state from the Tigray state TV noted the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) declared a state of emergency to “defend the security and existence of the people of Tigray and their sovereignty.’
