Somalia’s Ocean Stars will today square-off with Serengeti Boys in the CECAFA under 17 finals to be staged in Burundi’s Gitega stadium.

The Salaf Farah Hassan coached team which humbled soccer powerhouses in the region including the defending champions Uganda Cubs will be fighting to record another history in Somalia’s soccer history after breaking the ceiling in the semi-finals duel last Wednesday.

Lead striker Farhan Mohamed Ahmed delivered the winning goal in the 60th minute to send packing Uganda who were crowned winners the last time the competition took place in 2009.

Sources from Villa Somalia indicated earlier President Mohamed Farmaajo was set to attend the match but cancelled to respond to the devastating floods which has displaced thousands in various parts of the country.

Confederation of African Football President Ahmad Ahmad will be attending the match slated for this afternoon.
