Famous Ethiopian Artist, Haacaaluu Hundeessaa shot dead in Addis Ababa

The prominent Oromo singer has been shot dead today in Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa around Galan Condominium site.

The internet has complete shutdown and power blackout following Ethiopia large protest emerged in the country streets since attack happens in the capital.

The prime minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed has expressed condolences to the singer’s family and promised a full investigation to the assassination of the artist killed in Addis Ababa.

According to a local media report, Haacaaluu Hundeessaa was an Oromo artist and youth chairman who empowers the public and loves integrations.

“Nine of the songs on my first album were written in prison. I did a performance in Sudan and quickly became a hero for my people. But the government tried to silence me. I was arrested and tortured in Maekelawi for a week” said one of his interviews on April 19, 2019, in Addis Abba.

“Because of government oppression, I had to make my second album in the United States. But I decided to return home to be with my people. I am willing to take risks and make sacrifices. I have faced many assassination attempts” he added.
